Washington Jackson III

 

Washington Jackson III is the Senior Director of Support Programs and Partnerships. He runs the daily operations of the Healthy Marriage and Adult Literacy departments.

 

Washington began his career with AVANCE-Houston as a Youth Coordinator. While in that role, Washington successfully led the Building Futures Program initiatives.  Shortly after he was promoted to the Assistant Director of Workforce and Family and developed partnerships with Home Depot (offering DIY Workshops) and Houston Forklift Safety (offering OSHA 10 Certification) and many others. Through these partnerships, members of the community were able to acquire new skills and certifications. 

 

Washington led the efforts for the Healthy Marriage and Adult Literacy programs on an interim basis and throughout this time, AVANCE’s Healthy Marriage program exceeded all Federal target goals for both the youth and adult programs.

 

Washington’s background includes over 10 years of experience serving his community in educational and law enforcement capacities.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration of Justice with a minor in Family and Child Development and a master’s degree in Divinity.

 

Washington is also passionate about coaching baseball and helping others.
