AVANCE is United Way Agency and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are dependent on government funds, United Way allocations, foundation and corporate dollars, and individual donors and volunteers to help us provide literacy and support services that give hope and opportunity to the people we serve.

We are grateful to our supporters for their investment in the children of the Greater Houston Area. The services AVANCE-Houston provides ensures the young children of our community are ready for the formal schoolroom. Understanding that a child’s first teacher is their parent, parents must also be prepared to instill the knowledge and skills their child needs to enter the classroom. Their success in school means success in life.

We and our AVANCE families welcome you to join supporters. Your help, whether it is financially or as a volunteer, will make a difference in the life of a child, their family, their future and the future of our community. Below you will find some of the many ways that you can get involved.
