AVANCE-Houston proudly embraces and advocates for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). We recognize and honor the diversity within our workplace and in the community that we serve. The collective efforts, contributions, and talents of these individuals continue to make our agency what it is today.

In August 2020, AVANCE-Houston launched its first DEIB committee with a mission to create, nurture and sustain an equitable environment in which individuals from all backgrounds are treated with dignity and respect; and to ensure that everyone feels welcomed, accepted, and connected to one another. Since then, we have strategized ways to strengthen and improve our diversity and inclusion efforts.

 

AVANCE-Houston is committed to encouraging an understanding and appreciation of all cultures through dialogue, education, advocacy, and assessment. We will continue to be intentional and work diligently toward cultivating an open, supportive, and responsive environment for all.
